Holidays

I’ve been baptised, now I’m heading off to the desert for 40 days and a bit longer again. Internet access will be limited I think. So I’ll say goodbye, and I’ll catch up with everyone when I get back. I will miss you all and wish you all well with everything that’s [...]

dunked

Been baptised, just got back. It was great. I’ve come home. On a high. Ate cheese, wore robe, changed into new clothes, was welcomed into the family, and it was fabulous.

Answers to questions

Trav, sorry I forgot to answer. Yes I get dunked three times. I get anointed with oil. I get chrisimated – a cross draw with oil made on my eyes, nose, lips, ears, heart, back, hands and feet, which is all about praying for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I get [...]

Fast

I don’t think this vegan lenten fast is helping either. Although I’ve only been doing it properly for two weeks. I’m craving bread with butter!

Now I’m sick

Too many late nights and now I’m sick. Happens every time. I’ll feel better when I’ve had a lot more sleep. Unfortunately, now that I’m so ordered when it comes to getting up, I wake up at the same time everyday, even after a late night. Prayers requested thanks.
This [...]

Holy Saturday

Church again tonight. At first I thought it was a lot of church for one week. But after a while, it seemed very appropriate to be at church a lot. It heightens a sense of significance of the week. Jesus’ followers would be in deep mourning today, inbetween Jesus death and [...]

Stressed

Too much to do and I just deleted my blog entry. I’m stressed, things to do, gotta clean house, get ready for guests, get ready for holidays, and sort out religious essentials from cultural traditions. I’m a little bit excited about baptism now. Still so much to do I don’t know where [...]

Autumn Easter Festival

Festival number 2 this week. This one was based on “old European traditions” and involved processions and “Easter wands.” Everyone dressed up, I was surprised at how much so. We all bought autumn leaves to decorate our wands. The old European tradition is actually a Palm Sunday tradition of decorating small [...]

Where’s my bathroom mould scrubbing toothbrush?

This morning I found the bathroom mould scrubbing toothbrush in the teeth cleaning toothbrush container. I hope no one used it to clean their teeth!
This morning, when I’d finished scrubbing mould with the mould scrubbing toothbrush, I put it back into the teeth cleaning toothbrush container. Oops…it may have been me who did [...]

I’m getting baptised

I’ve decided to be baptised this easter (the week after easter for orthodox easter). Lent has apparently always been the time for preparation for people seeking baptism on Easter Sunday. Easter Sunday is a symbolic time for baptism, dying to self and being raised with Christ. Each lent after is a time [...]
